What is PelviBiome™ for?

Lactobacillus

The good and protective bacteria. Known to be protective in the reproductive tract keeping it balanced, reduce infections and improve fertility outcomes. We detect for all Lactobacillus species.

Pathogenic Bacteria

These bacteria can cause disease, and they include Ureaplasma, Mycoplasma, BV, Strep and more. We look for all bacteria present in your sample. 

Yeast & Fungi

Candida albicans is the most common species found in about 20% of healthy women without symptoms. While usually harmless commensal organisms, fungi act as "opportunistic pathogens," meaning they can overgrow and cause symptomatic infections (vulvovaginal candidiasis) when the vaginal ecosystem is disrupted.

We detect all Yeast and Fungi species including Candida species and mould like Aspergillus.

Vaginal dysbiosis refers to reduced protective Lactobacillus with greater microbial diversity, raising pH and inflammation. It leads to symptoms such as discharge and itching, and is associated with bacterial vaginosis, STIs, and reproductive health issues.
